Unlocking Funding & Innovation through Academic Collaboration

16:30 - 19:30 | 20 March 2024 | Oak Suite, Elm Grove Conference Centre, University of Roehampton, SW15 5PH

Discover how funding for academic collaboration could help your business thrive

Could an injection of funding and expertise help you take your business to the next level?

Whether it’s a piece of research, new product/service design, developing a new strategy or undertaking market research – taking steps to develop and grow your business requires time and expertise that you may not have in-house.

Come along to this event to find out how your organisation could benefit from academic expertise from the University of Roehampton to help achieve your goals and receive an Innovation Voucher to fund the partnership.

With businesses and academics in the room, we’re aiming to create connections and spark collaborations and will demonstrate with practical case studies how voucher funding can be used. We’ll be matching registered businesses with academics in attendance so that you have an existing contact to start those discussions on arrival.

The aim is to begin making the necessary connections to drive forward innovation.

Introduction to the Innovation Vouchers

The Innovation Vouchers are a new fund to support businesses in developing exciting new ideas, products or services in the following sectors:

  • Mental and physical health & wellbeing
  • Business sustainability and growth
  • Green skills and the built environment

With the value of each voucher coming to £5,000, the funding can be used to undertake research assistance, product development and testing, marketing, stakeholder and user group engagement.

This fantastic programme is designed for local organisations who wish to collaborate on a short-term project(s) with the University of Roehampton’s academics and experts and is open to registered sole traders, start-ups and established businesses, social enterprises and charities of any size, who are based in South London boroughs, specifically Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton, Southwark, Lambeth and Wandsworth.

We are particularly keen to collaborate with organisations led by individuals from diverse backgrounds, to ensure that our innovation partnerships in South London are reflective of the region’s diverse communities.
