A series of collaborative, creative and interactive events which will bring together a mix of participants from across our South London communities to develop solutions for a particular societal challenge.
Throughout 2023, we ran 12 half-day challenge events across the five BIG South London boroughs, each focusing on a different local, real-life challenge. Challenge topics included employment and skills, the climate emergency, revitalising our high streets, improving business resilience and productivity, health and well-being and reducing inequalities. It was a collaboration between three prestigious universities: the University of the Arts London, Kingston University, and the University of Roehampton.
The BIG Design Lab helped participants broaden their professional and community networks and allowed them to develop ideas and solutions that would improve the place they lived and worked in.
It helped participants to develop their creativity and problem-solving skills as well as collaborate with key players in their Boroughs to create sustainable solutions.
