BIG GROWTH: IMPROVING LONDON COMMUNITIES
INNOVATION PROGRAMME

A fully funded programme of support will be available to South London-based enterprises and third-sector organisations working to improve London communities.

Why take part?

The ‘Improving London Communities’ cohort is looking to support organisations whose mission is to improve the lives and livelihoods of the individuals living and working in their community. This may include youth support (health, social integration and mental and physical wellbeing and mentoring), organisations supporting homelessness and those in unstable housing and living situations, including organisations that support the mental health and wellbeing among vulnerable adults in London communities.

Collaborate with LSBU academics from the School of Applied Sciences on the development, evaluation, and impact of the services and support you offer to London Communities.

What format will it take?

The support through the BIG programme may include:

  • Exploring your stakeholders’ experiences to understand what works and what doesn’t.
  • Identifying new needs/priorities that you could target as proposed by your stakeholders.
  • Evaluating data that you already have, being used demonstrate your success and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Exploring the acceptability and effectiveness of potential new offerings your organisation might extend to your communities.

This four-month cohort will include a series of two workshops in addition to consultancy support from academics within the School of Applied Sciences. The support through the BIG Growth Programme may also lead to longer term collaboration with LSBU.

Who can take part?

This programme is open to start-ups, established businesses, social enterprises and charities in the following London boroughs: Croydon, Kingston upon Thames, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Richmond, Southwark, Sutton, and Wandsworth.
