Alec Riches

Alec is a commercial leader specialising in strategic growth, operational excellence, and data-informed performance.

Alec is especially excited to be speaking at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, having spent five years there earlier in my career, leading the Short Breaks marketing and brand strategy team. That experience gave me a deep commercial foundation built on a customer-first strategy.

Alec has since moved through commercial marketing roles into his current role as the Head of Business Planning and Analysis at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where he focuses on the strategic decisions that future-proof the organisation: analysing how to grow its visitor base, enhance the visitor experience, and ensure that programmes drive financial and social value.

Ultimately, Alec’s experience has been about translating strategic vision into tangible value, whether that’s increasing revenue or driving social impact. Alec is keen to discuss how public and private sector partners, working together, can unlock new economic potential and truly enhance the visitor economy of South London.
